The Sikhs Podcast™ Podcast Viewer
The Sikhs Podcast™ Podcast Viewer is available to download from the App Store. It allows users to watch The Sikhs Podcast’s The Sikhs: A Video Podcast on the go using their iPhone or iPod Touch.
Singh Sabha
Singh Sabha is an iPhone/iPod Touch App created by The Sikhs Podcast for Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Derby. It allows users to view the daily program, view the next rehansabahi’s location with map, view the museum opening times and telephone number, also allows users to call, e-mail or find Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Derby at a click of a button.
Dhur Ki Bani
Dhur Ki Bani is the newest app from The Sikhs Podcast. It allows users to listen to live Kirtan from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, India straight from their iPhone. Because this is live kirtan, at certain times of the day, there will be no Kirtan, just silence, this is not the App’s fault but the fact that there is no kirtan playing at Sri Darbar Sahib.
iNitnem [G]
iNitnem [G] is the next offering from The Sikhs Podcast it allows users to read Nitnem in Gurmukhi (hence the [G]) wherever you may be. The iPhone App is available right now.
iDastaar
Ever wanted to know how to tie a Dhamalla, or maybe your a women starting to tie a Dastaar, need some step by step videos? With this app, you can watch how some great people at SikhNet tie theirs! It is now available!
iNitnem [E]
iNitnem [E] is your friendly interfaced Pothi that you loved from iNitnem [G] except this time we have included English Translations & Transliterations. We have decided to charge for this app so that we can fund future development and other projects. It is now available!
Popularity: 100%

Good work. I was just thinking that we need an app like this. I have been using another app to view local pdf files of banis.
The one suggestion I have is that you should be able to select which bani you want to read. Not everyone reads every bani and it would make it more user friendly to be able to choose an individual bani so.
Also there are variations of Rehiras so one might like to have choices of which one they read. Also you could include other common banis to choose from (like Shabad Hazare).
Thanks for making the app!

As I already submit my opinion through app store. I just want to see Nitnem App more user friendly. I already have files of Nitnem Banis in large fonts with background. They are separated. The user should have access to any page and bani from the main menu. Pages should be changed by sliding your finger from left to right, like other app named Sukhmani Sahib in app store. Please contact me if you need Nitnem files from me, I can give you PDF, JPG format, or let me know in which format you need them. Thanks

iNitnem application need to have more banis like Sukhmani Sahib, Asa Di Vaar. Salok Mahla 9.

We are currently working on a new version of iNitnem and hope to have it released soon. It will contain more banis, but we cannot confirm yet which banis will be included. Thanks for your comment.

Is there any way of notifying the sangat when the new version 2.0 comes out.
Like send an automatic email notification to the emails that you have in your store.
Also it will be great if “Asa Di Vaar” can be included too.
[Translate]
We will tweet about it on Twitter, our username is thesikhspodcast you could follow our tweets, otherwise if you download iNitnem [G] 1.0 when iNitnem [G] 2.0 comes out you will be notified that an update is available. But we do not have an automatic email notification service to do this. Asa Di Vaar has been included in iNitnem [G] 2.0.

Vahguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh,
I’ve just seen the new iNitnem app on my brother’s iphone and I think it is amazing! What great seva especially with the different versions of the baniya and now Panj Granthi Nitnem available too.
Unfortunatly I do not have an iphone but the latest Android Google phone. (the HTC Hero.) Are there any future plans to have this app available through the android app market?
Thank you for your time.

Gurfateh! We are glad that you enjoy using the iNitnem [G] app for the iPhone. Currently there are no plans to bring it over to the Android Google Phone. This is because, we only started creating apps for the iPhone because we had one to test on, and it was mainly out of pure chance. Because I have no programming background (actually studying Accounting at uni) this may be difficult. I did try to check out the possibility for this over the summer, but nothing came to fruition. But hopefully you never know, maybe we will do soon. Please let us know what you think about our general website and our podcasts. It’d be great to know what the sangat thought.
Gurfateh.

Good…although would have been nice to see him and hmm have a word or two..

This was a point made by my own MP, who I would like to add replied very quickly by post (despite the recent postal strikes). He said a good avenue to go down for UK Sikhs to investigate the 1984 anti-Sikh Pogroms and in particular those like Jagdish Tytler, would be to find out if any British Citizens were slaughtered during that time. If so, if Jagdish Tytler were to visit the UK, he could be tried through the UK Judicial System. A thought from my local MP Mark Todd, who has been a big sympathiser of the Sikhs and is retiring at the end of this term. Hopefully, we get someone just as sympathetic as him in the next General Election.

Hi, Is there a way that I can read inetnem in english, Unfortunately I can not read gurmukhi
[Translate]
Dear Sukhpal,
We are glad that you wish to read Nitnem, this is a great step. Currently, iNitnem [G] is just that, iNitnem [Gurmukhi]. However, we have planned to launch iNitnem [E], iNitnem [English] soon. However, although the app has been programmed, the PDFs need to be created which will take around a weeks worth of work, then there will be around 14 days from uploading the app until approval. Unfortunately, we are quite busy at the moment with other commitments such as university, so we are hoping that this will be done in January 2010. We apologise for this and understand that sangat wants the app as soon as possible, but believe us, we are working on it as fast as possible.
Gurfateh.

thanks for doing this seva. I had a request if Dukh Bhunjani Sahib can be added to this app? Keep up with the good work and effort. The website is great too.

Gurfateh,
Dear GJ Singh, we will add Dukh Bhanjanee Sahib to the next version of iNitnem [G] which will hopefully be released early next year. If you think of any other banis you wish to be added, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for the support.
Gurfateh.

Fantastic app – thank you for creating. A few suggestions:
1. When you get a call you you lose the page that you are on – anyway to avoid this?
2. Is it possible to add a way to get to a particular page – e.g. in Sukhmani Sahib if you want to get to the end then you have to scroll all the way through.
thanks

Gurfateh Ji, thank you for your comments. We also thank you greatly for your suggestions, and we will look into these and if possible, try to incorporate them in a future update.

These podcasts are so refreshing, just what I was searching for, so I can get to know more about my religion! Brilliant idea, many sikhs do not know their heritage who are born in the UK or any history….knowledge is power!
[Translate]
Sad to see this….but what can be done to change India? A petition would not work…an angry revolt will not work…in terms of khalistan…its a nearly certain if not certain will never come to existence…

Without a country of our own it is very difficult for nations to take the Sikhs seriously. But if the British Government can implement laws to protect Sikhs and their rights (which were gained through protesting) then the Indian Government should feel ashamed. That is if the Sikhs aren’t being kept out in the cold deliberately…
[Translate]
if out of UK, where can we view it? can someone put it on youtube? I’m really eager to watch it.
[Translate]
It is not possible to put on YouTube because it is a TV show Copyrighted by the BBC. But it is possible it will be put online on another website, such as SikhRoots.
